Spell checker does not work.
The spelling check in the text of the note has recently stopped working, it works only in the title. This is very important, often working with text. I tried different methods, the problem is in the Web application, it works on other sites, the function is enabled in the browser settings.
By the way, the Android application does not work and did not work.
Seconding this; tested on Firefox and Chrome.

Firefox has an additional issue where the last word of a task title is always marked as spelled wrong in the description pane. Right clicking always produces suggestions of the last word followed by "-what" or " What", indicating that the input place holder of "What needs doing?" that can be viewed in the page source code is being joined to the task title string.

I can provide screen shots of this issue if that would clarify anything.
Hey there,

Could you plz tell us the browser version your are using?

Yes, you may send your screenshot via support@ticktick.com. @Ryan Noe
Firefox 66.0.3 (64-bit)
Google Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Add-ons were disable for both. Spellchecking does not work in description pane for tasks in either browser, but does work in other areas. Only FireFox has the more unusual behavior described above that I will email screenshots of.
I confirm. I have the same browser version. It all started about a month ago.
Hi Devs - have you been able to replicate any of the issues described above?
Hey there,

Could you plz check which kinds of spelling check setting in Firefox?
I can confirm what Ryan Noe posted 2019-04-22:

"Firefox has an additional issue where the last word of a task title is always marked as spelled wrong in the description pane. "

Firefox 66.0.4
The context menu has a check next to the "check spelling" item, indicating it is enabled. The language is English (United States).
More than a year has been a premium subscriber, but due to the lack of support and the correction of elementary errors, slow service load, incomplete rewrite, this month has been forced to terminate the subscription. I wish the team service, speedy development, corrections, and capacity building. Service is promising but is developing too slowly. Thank.
I don't plan on cancelling my subscription, but I would like to know if allowing the user's browser to perform spell checking in the description window of a task is a feature that will be supported in the future.

Right now Chrome and Firefox perform spell checking on task titles but not on their descriptions.

Any progress in fixing this? Thanks!
There has been no response from the development team in almost a month. What is the progress of getting this fixed?

In Firefox, the last word of every task title (that doesn't end in punctuation) is still always marked as a spelled error. There's an obvious programming error. Please fix. :)
Any progress on this? Thanks!
Confirm the problem here too, "spellchecking not working in description pane".
Using Chrome Version 74.0.3729.169 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Fix please
Carol? Any updates on these 2 (possibly related) bugs?

In Firefox, the last word of every task title (that doesn't end in punctuation) is ALWAYS marked as a spelling error.

In Chrome, the spellchecker does not work in the description pane.
It's been another week without any response from anyone at TickTick. How about a response?
Hey TickNick,

Sorry for missing out your last two messages.

Firefox has an additional issue where the last word of a task title is always marked as spelled wrong in the description pane.

➣Could you plz reproduce the issue and send us a short video or screenshots so we can better do the troubleshooting.

In Chrome, the spellchecker does not work in the description pane.
➣Sorry about the confusion, currently we do not support spellchecker in the description pane. But your request has been noted down and we will consider implementing it in the future.

Thanks for getting back to us. I sent an email to support@ticktick.com with the subject line "Firefox spell checking problem screenshots".

It includes screenshots of the problem, my spell checking settings, and the page source code where the problem is located. Locally editing the source code to remove the placeholder text resolves the issue. I include a screenshot of those edits as well. These screenshots were taken in version 67.0.4 (64-bit) with all add-ons disabled.

Please let me know if you can replicate the issue.

Thanks Carol and Ryan!

In addition to the files Ryan provided, here is an example screenshot from Firefox 67.0.4: https://justpaste.it/51ii6
I received this reply from TickTick support in response to my bug report:
"Sorry we are afraid this is not a bug, currently, we do not support spell check in the web app. But will pass your request to the product team and do a further evaluation."

Posting this here so others can be aware that support was officially dropped. I'm disappointed to see this very useful feature that has been available for 5 years abruptly dropped without explanation.

Obviously I would like to see full spellchecking returned, but if that is not going to happen in the near future, I have one much smaller request. Please put a leading space in the source code before the first word of the input placeholders "What needs doing?" and "Press 'Enter' to add list item".

This would not break anything or be visible to users, but it would fix the the Firefox spellchecking issue and allow users to keep checking the spelling on their task and sub-task titles.
