Improve user interface of web/iOS apps
Hello TickTick team!

I've been evaluating TickTick for a few days now, and while it's not the most feature-rich platform, I really like that the user interface is very streamlined and suits my needs almost perfectly. I really like the web and iOS apps which seem to always be in perfect sync. I'm seriously considering upgrading to Pro.

I tried at least a dozen task management apps in the past few days (2Do, Things, Asana, doit.im, Toodledo, Todoist, Todo Cloud, WorkFlowy, Nozbe, and many others), and found that TickTick suits my needs best (largely due to its simplicity). My only real criticism of the web and iOS apps are over their user interface design. It looks too simple, and it's also difficult to visually distinguish between tasks and headers (today, tomorrow, etc.) in the task list. Here are screenshots of the web and iOS apps:

and here is a quickly hacked user style for the web app, applied via the Stylish extension for Chrome:

As you can see, I've put a background on the headers and made them smaller, and have also made the task separator lines lighter and shorter on the left. This way I can easily distinguish between the different UI elements on screen. I also changed the font to Segoe UI, the default system UI font on Windows since Vista.

This modification above is a great hack (at least for me), but I really wish to see a more polished UI. To me the 2Do iOS app has hands down the best interface. Things is also nice. User interface is a very important factor nowadays, and I think TickTick would benefit hugely from some polishing.

Thanks for your consideration,
Iliyan

P.S. Just to make it clear, I find TickTick's interface functionally quite efficient (though 2Do has some very cool features that can be used as an inspiration for future improvements). I was only commenting on the visual aesthetics.

P.P.S. Lastly, it would be great if the web app could have a counter for the number of tasks due today in the favicon (similarly to the Chrome extension and Gmail's web apps). This is especially useful when having the TickTick web app as a pinned tab in the browser.
Hi,

Thanks for your support and such detailed suggestion. We do appreciate it!
I've now passed this to our UI for further evaluation. We'll keep this thread updated as soon as we have any estimates or date as to when it's going to be available.

Regards,
Phoenix
And thank you for the quick reply! Keep up the great work, guys!
I would like to know how you modified the style or point to something that will show me how - I installed the stylish extension on my chrome. Thanks
